Essential Buddhist Philosophy for the Near Future: The Purpose of Life and True Happiness

Description

Thank you for taking this introductory online Buddhist course, starting from the basics.

This online Buddhist course allows you to learn about "true happiness" and "the purpose of life" through the teachings of Buddhism.

To make Buddhism accessible to many people anytime, anywhere,

since starting online distribution, we are grateful that

over 5,000 people have taken courses on Udemy.

"No matter how painful life is, why do we live?"

Never before has this question been asked so earnestly.

Therefore, I am delivering this video course for those who want to learn about Buddhism, which explains the purpose of life.

By completing this course,

you will understand the fundamentals of Buddhist teachings

and learn how they relate to your own life.

From the course participants, we have received many joyful messages, such as:

"I realized that Buddhism was a teaching that was close to me and important in my life."

"I now understand why Buddhism is spreading all over the world."

"I want to continue learning about Buddhism and live with an unwavering core."

More than anyone else, I myself used to think:

"Maybe life has no meaning."

And I was depressed about it.

But after learning about Buddhism,

I can now proudly say,

"Living is such a wonderful thing!"

And I've been able to live a life without regrets.

If you

earn money

achieve a certain level of success

and have built a wonderful family

yet still

your heart is not fulfilled

something is missing

you feel a vague emptiness

The answer to that missing thing lies in

"the true purpose of life"

and the answer to that lies in Buddhism.

How can anyone

live a life where they can truly rejoice and say, "I'm glad I've lived this long"? For over 15 years, I have focused on this one theme,

speaking about Buddhist teachings almost daily.

This online introductory course is designed to cover the fundamentals of Buddhism,

starting with the most important topics.

Even busy people can learn,

I've focused on the most crucial points, explaining everything from the basics.

However, if you have any questions,

it's entirely due to my lack of explanation,

please feel free to ask in the review comments or Q&A section,

I will answer to the best of my ability.

I've also included a short quiz for each lecture,

please enjoy using it as a way to gauge your understanding.

Those who diligently study until the end will, firstly,

become far more knowledgeable about Buddhism than the average person.

And at the same time, you will gain clarity on where you should live your life from now on,

leading to a truly fulfilling life.

See you in the course!

Instructor

Shota Okayasu, Understanding Buddhist Teachings

Lecturer, Jodo Shinshu Academy, Professor of Buddhism

I am Shota Okayasu (Hoberuto), a Buddhist lecturer.

For several years until last year, at the request of a close friend living in South America,

I went to Brazil to talk about Buddhism.

"Hoberuto" is my Brazilian name at that time.

I started online seminars for people in various parts of Brazil, as well as in the United States, Portugal,

Angola in Africa, and other places,

with a goal of 10 hours a day, 200 hours a month.

Eventually, I received requests to give lectures from lawyers and researchers,

I traveled to several locations and even gave courses at universities.

Currently, there's a quiet boom in Buddhism in various parts of the world.

Even in Japan, a country long considered Buddhist, where many people are indifferent to Buddhism,

I'm belatedly holding seminars.

Within six months of returning to Japan, I've given over 100 lectures, mainly in the Tokyo metropolitan area.

While I sometimes give lectures in venues accommodating 10,000 people,

I also love individual consultations and small group meetings.

Currently, I run an online Buddhist school where students from their teens to their sixties can learn.

The Buddhist academy's classes, which focus on learning about "living,"

are accessible to anyone, from anywhere, at their own pace.
