本を翻訳するということは、その本が第二の命を吹き込まれるということです。本を翻訳するたびに、その本に新たな命が吹き込まれるのです。
文字通り翻訳が鏡像のように映し出されることは決してありません。誰かが勇気を出して別の言語で本について書くとき、その人は、その本の個性、スタイル、そして個人的な経験を、新しい本、つまり翻訳の中に持ち込むのです。
私がこの本について書くなんて、一体どういうことでしょうか？
まず、21世紀においては、多くの人がこのように書評を書いています。
私も書評を題材にしたブログをいくつか運営しています。
また、私の家族には公式翻訳家もいました。
例えば、F・チャナク・ドーラはハンガリー科学アカデミーの会員で、多くの本をハンガリー語に翻訳しました。
私は彼女の著書を英語に翻訳した際に、ブログでその内容を発信しています。また、19世紀、20世紀、そして21世紀のヨーロッパに関する個人的な話や文化的な事柄も共有しています。
この本をデンマーク語で読み始めました。毎日最低25ページ読むように心がけていますが、昨日は長い一日で20ページしか読めず、残りは今朝読みました。
ここでは美しい翻訳を目指しているわけではありませんが、初めてこの本に触れるので、箇条書きで要点をまとめていきます。
そして、本を読み終えて要点をまとめたら、きちんとした翻訳をしたいと思います。
でも、まずはこの本の雰囲気を感じ取り、自分なりの考察を深める必要があります。それに、自分なりの調査も必要です。

When you translate a book, it is second born of the book. Every time, you translate a book, you give a new life to a book.
As never happenes that somethign litterally mirror translation. When someone gets the courage to write about a book in another language, this person brings the personality, the style, the individual experiences inside the new book, that is a translation.
How dare I write about this book?
First of all in the 21st century, a lot of people do like this, that they write reviews.
I have a few blogs like this based on reviews.
I also had family memebers, who were official translators.
For example F. Csanak Dora, she was a member of the Hungarian Science Academy and she translated a lot of books to Hungarian.
I have a blog, when I translate one of her books to English. I also share more personal stories and cultural things about Europe in the 19th -20 th - 21st century.

I started to read this book in Danish, I try to read every day minimum 25 pages, finally after a long day, yesterday I read only 20 pages, ad I read the rest in this morning.
Here I do not plan to make a beautiful translation, but as it is my first approach to the book, I will mae bulletpoints.
And then, later when at least I read the book and made bulletpoints, then I can make a proper translation.
But first I need to get to the feeling, I need to get my own reflection as well. Plus my own research.

- Karen Blixen moved back home from Africa in 1931.
- K.B. died in 1962, and in her last will she wanted her houskeeper, Caroline Carlsen to live in the big house in Ringsted, until she is alive.

- When Karen Blixen moved to the USA, she lived in North America, in Wisconsin first.
- Karen Blixen's mother, Ingeborg Westenholz was 11 years yunger, then K.B.'s father.
- Ingeborg Westenholz was the daugther to the Danish politican, Regnar Westenholz, who was the Finance Minister.
- Regnar Westenholz's wife came from an important family. Her name was Mary, her father was the richest merchant in Copenhagen, his name was A.N. Hansen.
- The area Rungsted is important, as the Royal Army used to have base there, in Rungsted Kro.
- One of the young soldiers from this base soon became Denmark biggest dramaturg.
- There are a lot of stories about Rungstedlund, H.C. Andresen and Georg Brandes also wrote about this place.
- When, in 1885, Karen Blixen was born, she was teh second child in the family.
- Thomas Dinesen, her brother was also a soldier and the writer.
- Some of Thomas Dinesen's works: "No Man's Land" , "Dagbog fra Safari i Masai-Reserve" , "Øksen".
- Wilhem Dinesen, when he was a member of the Danish Parliamant, he fighted for reforms in Nature protection and Hunting Law.
- Wilhem Dinesen used to have a place to live in Copenhagen because of his work in the Parliament. During this period he had a side relationship with a local waitress girl. She got pregnant from this romance. Unfortunetly, Wilhem Dinesen could not handle the stress of the adultry and extra child idea and he killed himself, when the girl was 6 month pregnent. That time Karen Blixen was only 9 years old.
- K.B. as a child, never went to offical school to study, she was home-schooled.
